Born in Salisbury, Dominica, John was heavily inspired in his work by Dominica’s abundant nature and its colorful and beautiful people including the local Caribs whom he constantly portrays in his paintings.

He has participated in numerous art shows both in Dominica and overseas, and his next show will be viewed in New Jersey, USA on June 5, 2010, where he currently resides. Because of his dedication to the arts, John was invited by the government of Dominica to teach art in some of the local elementary schools, and is one of only a handful of distinguished Dominican painters. His works are in numerous private collections in the Caribbean, the USA and Europe

A few years ago, John migrated to the United States where he enrolled in the Art Student League of New York. He later participated in the Annual Fulton Art Fair in New York City, and won the first place award and prize. He continued participating in many exhibitions, and it was at the Castillo Gallery in New York City, at one of his showings, that he was interviewed by Gentle Ben of GBTV program ''Culture Share''. John’s art soon became the background design for the program.

John continues to paint motivated by his deep love of nature, people and “the wonders that the Creator have given us.”
