Basseterre, St Kitts (TDN) -- Dominican historian Dr Lennox Honychurch and St Lucian cultural icon Adrian Lugier will both receive honorary degrees from the Open Campus of The University of the West Indies (UWI) during graduation ceremonies scheduled for October 13, 2012.
Dr. Honychurch, holds the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Anthropology (1998) and the Master of Philosophy degree in Anthropology and Museum Ethnography, both from St. Hugh’s College, University of Oxford.
He is also the recipient of Dominica’s meritorious service award and previously worked as a UWI staff tutor in Dominica. In addition, he was an Honorary Research Fellow at the UWI, as well as the Open Campus’s first Distinguished Lecturer on its cruise and learns initiative, the sailing of the UWI Open Campus Scholar Ship in 2011, dedicated to the culture, flora and fauna of the region.
St Lucian Adrian Lugier is a dedicated cultural icon and a consultant in economic development and the creative industries. He holds a BA in Economics and Political Science at the University of Western Ontario, Canada and an MA in Development Finance & Planning at the American University, Washington D.C.
It is expected that some 720 graduands will graduate with online degrees from the 16 countries served by the UWI and the Open Campus.
