China in my Eyes- Essay competition for Dominicans

Roseau, Dominica (TDN) — The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development in Dominica is partnering with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to host an essay prize contest.

The theme of the essay contest is 'China in My Eyes'. Interested applicants are encouraged to describe their multiple dimension experience in China including what they saw, heard, learnt and felt of China's traditional culture, philosophy, scenery, social customs and modern elements, and the inspiration and benefit they got from the trip to China.
Participants have a choice of writing the essay either in the Chinese or English Language. If written in Chinese the word limit should be 300-800 words and if in English 800-2000 words. In addition, participants are not restricted on form or type of literature.
All citizens of Dominica who have visited China in the past are welcomed to take part in the contest, which is opened until February 1, 2012.
Essays should be entitled "Contesting Essay: China in My Eyes" with the name, gender, date of birth, passport number and contact information (including address) and also specify date of visits to China and length of visit.
English entries should be submitted electronically by email to the ministry of education at [email protected] and Chinese essays sent to the Chinese embassy at [email protected].
The results of the contest will be published at the end of March, 2012. Three places will be awarded for each category with prizes awarded as follows: English entries, first prize $1 000, second prize $600 and third prize $400.
For the Chinese essays, first prize is $1 200, second prize $750and third prize $500.
