Help Save a School – Contribute to a Special Fund for the St Mary’s Academy
By Thomson Fontaine

The St Mary’s Academy is celebrating its 75th year as one of the leading educational institutions on Dominica with a week of activities to mark this special occasion. The SMA has provided a solid educational base for hundreds of Dominica’s most illustrious citizens who have gone on to great academic and other achievements continuing to make invaluable contributions to society.

As part of the celebrations, the school is embarking on a fund raising effort to build a new roof for one of the main buildings urgently needing repair.

To assist in this effort, a group of former SMA students in the United States with the support and backing of the students and staff of the Academy have embarked upon a special project to help raise the required funds and make a lasting contribution to their alma mater.

For a minimum contribution of $25, former students of SMA and other conscientious supporters of a good education for our youth will receive a beautiful gold plaited 75th Anniversary medallion set in a beautiful display box and embossed with the crest of St Mary's Academy and the years that they attended the school.

In addition, all contributors will have the opportunity to take part in two separate drawings: (i) a seven day cruise through the Caribbean with a stop in Dominica and (ii) a four day stay at the Garraway and Exotica hotels in beautiful Dominica.

As an added incentive, contributors will receive a complementary copy of the commemorative magazine for the 75th year anniversary.

While the minimum contribution is only $25, alumni and friends of the St Mary's Academy are encouraged to contribute generously and be a part of helping to keep the solid tradition of the institution alive and well for future generations.

How to make your contribution
(i) Secure credit card contributions can be made online (Click on this link and then on the donate button) or
