Roanna Joseph

Born in the village of Pointe Michel, 21-year-old Roanna is a graduate of the Convent High School and the Clifton Dupigny Community College now the Dominica State College. She at one time aspired to be a Mathematics Teacher, but now has her eyes set on becoming a Social Worker. Roanna is currently employed at the Social Welfare Division.

According to Roanna “I enjoy meeting new people, socializing, playing volleyball and football. I am presently the Treasurer and a hardworking member of the Pointe Michel Youth 2000. I am also a member of a number of dance groups: my favorite being the Pointe Michel Cultural Group.

Being a member of this group helped me to become the Miss National Wob Dwiyet Winner in 2003. My experience being a winner and a Cultural Ambassador was a very exciting and educational one and if I were to become the Carnival Queen (Miss Dominica 2005), I would do my utmost to make my country proud both regionally and internationally.”
