Cricket enthusiast and commentator Thomas Lafond has died

Roseau, Dominica (TDN) -- Well known cricket commentator and sports enthusiast Thomas (Tom) Lafond has died. Lafond died of an as yet undisclosed illness at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Roseau, Dominica on Tuesday December 18, 2012.

For many years Lafond served as Manager of the Windward Islands cricket team after having played cricket at the highest level in the Region.

In recent years he was one of Dominica’s leading sports commentators with an active involvement in sport and also worked at a shipping company.

Laffond is survived by his wife Jennifer Lafond and his children including Dr Jeffrey Lafond who practices medicine in Barbados. He was also a long time member of the Cavaliers Sports Club.
