Dominica has decided to withdraw its recognition of the so-called SADR, the country's Visiting Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said, on Thursday, in a joint statement issued following talks with Morocco's Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri.

During the talks, Fassi Fihri informed Skerrit about the latest development on the Sahara issue, which has been hindering regional integration in the Maghreb.
In this respect, The Moroccan official recalled the support of the international community to Morocco's initiative to grant substantial autonomy to its southern provinces, the Sahara, and reiterated the Kingdom's commitment to the ongoing negotiation process with a view of "achieving a lasting and just settlement in conformity with the UN Security Council resolutions, which call for a solution based on realism and the spirit of compromise."
The talks were also an opportunity to tackle international issues. The two parties underlined their agreement on the whole of these issues and voiced willingness to reinforce cooperation this direction.
During the talks, Skerrit, who is on a two-day visit to Morocco, conveyed a message of friendship and consideration from his government and expressed admiration for the efforts of HM King Mohammed VI to promote peace and international security, says the statement.
Skerrit is leading a delegation including notably Trade, Industry and Employment Minister.
