Noted criminologist and sociologist Dr Peter St Jean on ‘This Week in Interview” January 6, 2010

Criminologist and sociologist Dr. Peter K.B. St. Jean, director and producer of Lessons from Homicides: The Buffalo Story was the guest on “This Week in Interview”, which was heard on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 8:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M on TheDominican.net radio.

Dr St Jean is a noted sociologist and criminologist.

Hosted by Thomson Fontaine, the one hour interview session focused on youth, crime and improving peoples’ quality of life. It also discussed the work of Dr St Jean in helping to reduce crime in Dominica, the United States and elsewhere around the world.

Born in Dominica, Dr St Jean is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

Dr. St. Jean's first book entitled Lessons from Grand Bay: Prospects for Maintaining Low Crime in Dominica, Nature Island of the Caribbean was published in 2006, and is being used widely as a model for crime reduction in the Caribbean.

His second book is entitled, Pockets of Crime: Broken Windows, Collective Efficacy, and the Criminal Point of View (forthcoming University of Chicago Press. August 2007). That book examines crime and violence in Wentworth, a high crime police district on the Southside of Chicago, Illinois.

He is the founder and CEO of Quality of Life Associates, Inc., and Quality of Life Films and Productions, Inc. and devotes his intellect, resources and spirit to help reduce suffering and improve quality of life across various populations the world over.
