Mannison Thomas was one of those brutally murdered in a fishing boat outside of Salisbury.

The bloodied bodies were recovered by the Dominica Coastguard after Police received several reports from the public that the men had been killed.

With the help of a spotter aircraft from the Regional Security System, the bodies were spotted and taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital for autopsies.

Meanwhile, Deputy Police Commissioner Cyril Carrette has revealed the identities of the three men found dead. They are Mannison Thomas a.k.a. Shabin of Fond St. Jean, Kenneth Birmingham a.k.a Kamala of Kings Hill, and Allan Bardouille of Newtown.

The fishing vessel in which the men were found is said to belong to Curtis Richards better known as “Shakes” of Newtown. After the men were found, Richards reported to the Police that his boat was stolen.

The brutal slayings have shocked residents of Dominica and the Police have vowed to do everything in their power to hunt down those responsible for the crime.

While indicating that there were two other persons on board the boat at the time, police did not reveal their identities.Carrette however said that they were in search of the two who they believe could help in their investigations.

The Police have also appealed to the public for assistance in helping to solve the murders and say that they will be getting assistance from regional forensic experts to help with the investigation.

It has been an unusually bloody year in Dominica with the number of murders rising dramatically to thirteen so far for 2009. Last year, eight murders recorded and in 2007 that number was five.

The saddest thing is that all the men were gainfully employed but got themselves involved in illigal activities. Greed.

One of those being searched by Police is alleged/rumoured to be a prominent young architect.

THE QUESTION IS (WHY WERE THESE MEN DOING OUT AT SEA THAT TIME)
IF THEY WERE ALL GAINFULLY EMPLOYED,THEY SHOULD BE SATISFIED WITH THAT...(all gain all lost)

it is with saddness that i continue to read the negative comments about my nephew Mannison Thomas and the othe young me who were merdered sensesly. inspite of what they might have been involved in they did not have to be killed. God gives life and God takes life not man, so i really feel sorry for those who committed these hideous acts of criminality. Theres will be much more severe. My thoughts are with my brother Manny and other members of our family who is now grieveing for such a great loss. God Spped my nethew.

Aunty Marlene my condolences to you and your family.

Employed or not, no one have to right to take another person's life, who ever are the culprits they need to be found and charge, Please Dominicans speak out, I know for sure that out there's people out there who know the persons involved in this crime, please do not remain silence, this is a perfect reason why the government of the nation need to reinforce CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IN DOMINICA, the idea of send people to STOCK FARM ON VACATION, when these people serve whatever time, one would think that they outside of Dominica, in the US, UK, Canada our some other countries, this is a very very sad thing, and this is not good for DA, again, as one person said, the last person to be executed in Dominica NEWTON was not a criminal, he was not the only one involved however he was the underdog, so i am in support of the reinforcing execution of people committing these crime in Dominica, my hears goes out to the families of the three men, Marlene my condolences to you and the rest of your family

Horrendous crime Justice should & will be served. The one calling for capital punishment says that the last person executed was executed because he was the underdog. This contradicts the call for capital punishment because what you're saying is that as an underdog he was executed and those of higher social status got away. That will continue to repeat itself and cannot be undone after an execution. Think twice, think clearly.

This is definetly a sad situation because it is always the families left behind that suffer. Hopefully this will be wake up call for those men and women that choose the easy way out for fast cash. Greed is a terrible thing!!!

Yes things are a bit hard in DA but so is everywhere else. We all have choices in life - I think parents can only do so much because we all have a mind of our own. it saddens me when people put the blame solely on the parents. Would I as a young person choose this path - NO - why? because the end is invitable - brutal death or a long time in prison. But I guess when you are in deep, the good life is hard to give up. But unfortunatley the end is always near. It makes me sick to see what drugs is doing to the people I once grew up with. Dominica is slowly becoming a scary place because of the drug trade.

The sad part about this is - some people always know who the culprits are and they never talk. That makes me sick, because the cycle continues. Yes the police force is somewhat corrupt, but when people keep back critcal information, it is difficult for the police to arrest just on hear say. But karma is a terrible thing, because the sad thing is the next time it could be the person withholding the truth or a love one of theirs.

Wake up my people - stop the gossiping and do your small part.

It is time for people to do their part to help clean up the streets by coming forward. What a terrible way to live by keeping something like that in.

when we try our best in life which is so hard already sometimes people tend to stop your flow, because of who you are,but my prayers are with my brother stone, hopin that these criminal's will definitly get caught or face something worse in time to come you'r friend v'ra in london.

well another one bites the dust in the evil drug trade. no sympathy here, just hope the young kids coming up learn something from this and look to do something better with themselves. We all make choices in life and these guys made the wrong ones in pursuit of riches, and showing off, who has the better XT motorbike or superbike, who can buy a new hummer, who have the most expensive rims on their car. Many other people live harder lives but don't make these decisions. We all need to know how to strive for something better and not succumb to evils such as drug dealing. So sorry to their families but also remember the drugs they were selling was also killing and spoiling many other people in the thousands.
