Port of Spain, Trinidad (TDN) A court in Trinidad and Tobago has ordered a former West Indies cricketer to re-appear in court on September 15, 2014 after he was granted TT$300,000 bail on a charge of incest.

The cricketer whose name has not been released because it could reveal the identity of his alleged victim, contrary to the country’s Sexual Offences Act, is said to be 38 years old.

The accused man appeared before a local magistrate charged with the offence allegedly committed against his 12-year-old daughter on July 8 of this year.

She told the police that she was at her home alone with her father sometime last week when he forced himself on her. On Friday Police moved in to make the arrest leading to his court appearance on Monday.

Bail was granted over the objection of the prosecution who pointed out that the accused was a flight risk. The magistrate however ordered that his passport be surrendered as a condition for bail.
