Toronto, Canada (TDN) --- Dennis Augustine the brother of Sarah-Lynn Augustine is petitioning the governments of Dominica and Canada to hold a trial in the deaths of the two children who were killed on September 16, 2010.

Sarah-Lynn Augustine who is said to be mentally ill is accused of brutally stabbing her two daughters , Rachel, 5, and Sophie, two-and-a-half months to death in Dominica. She reportedly unsuccessfully attempted to take her own life at the time of the murders.

Augustine is a Canadian citizen who was at the time of the murders residing in Dominica with her mother a local pastor.

Her brother Dennis is worried that she is free in Canada without supervision. Shortly after Dominica Police arrested Sarah for the murders she was charged but the case was soon discontinued.

Instead, a Canadian psychiatrist was sent to Dominica to assess her. He determined that she was bi-polar and suffered from post-partum psychosis. Sarah-Lynn was then released into the custody of brother and immediately travelled to Canada.

Dennis tells the City Paper of Toronto that Sarah-Lynn returned “with no monitoring and no record in Canada of the alleged crime in Dominica.”

Upon arrival in Toronto she voluntarily committed herself to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, but checked herself out after just two months.

Dennis says he is worried that the horrific crimes could be repeated if she becomes a mother again especially with no one knowing of her past.

So for the past four years he has continued to petition the governments of both countries to have the matter tried in court. As a last ditch effort Dennis has now started an online petition to get the respective governments to act.

Dennis says he is doing it out of love for his murdered nieces and a concern for his sister.
