Roseau, Dominica (TDN) -- Earl Grant, otherwise known as Secko has been put on notice that he is wanted in Dominica for questioning in the firebombing case involving retired magistrate G O N Emanuel.
The stunning announcement was made by Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Julian Prevost more than two years after Emanuel and his wife were nearly killed in what authorities have dubbed as arson.
At a press briefing earlier today, Prevost revealed that he had received the Police file on the Christmas Day 2010 firebombing of Emanuel’s home and was confident that there was enough evidence to request that Grant return to Dominica for questioning.
““So we would like to put him on notice that unless he comes willingly to the country before the end of the month, I will be seeking the assistance of the attorney general to have him extradited to Dominica,” he said.
“If he has nothing to hide, nothing to fear, he can come to the Police….I hope that we can make progress on that case before my stint is over,” Prevost continued.
Following the Christmas Day fire, Grant was implicated in a sworn statement by Denny Shillingford who claimed that he set the fire on his orders.
In his detailed statement given to the press, Shillingford recounted how he was recruited by Grant then driven to Goodwill and given specific instructions to set the house on fire with Emanuel and his wife sleeping inside.
Days after the firebombing, Grant left the Island and he has reportedly been seen in New York and St Maarten.
