Bridgetown, Barbados (TDN) -- Right arm spinner Shane Shillingford has been dropped from the West Indies team to tour Bangladesh. The selectors have instead called up left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul from Guyana to join the fifteen man squad.
Pernaul is the only change to the test team that played New Zealand in the West Indies during the months of July to August 2012. Shillingford has been overlooked for the Bangladesh tour despite taking ten wickets in an innings against Australia in Dominica just a few months earlier, and putting in credible performances with the ball and bat.
Shillingford the right arm spinner from Dominica has played in eight test matches for the West Indies for a total of 29 wickets at an average of 44.79. His best figures is 6 for 119 against Australia in Dominica.
