The Royal tour for Diamond jubilee celebrations |
London, UK (TDN) —- Queen Elizabeth will celebrate her Diamond Jubilee next year with extensive Royal tours across the globe and Dominica has been inexplicably excluded.
Royal watchers are referring to it as a ‘Royal Snub’ as senior royals will fan out across the globe in 2012 visiting the Queen's 15 realms - nations where the sovereign is head of state - major Commonwealth countries, and other destinations with close links to the UK.
Prince Edward and his wife, the Countess of Wessex, and Prince Harry traveling solo will tour the entire English Speaking Caribbean with the exception of Dominica.
Prince Edward will visit Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Montserrat, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, with an extra visit to Gibraltar.
Meanwhile Prince Harry will visit Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
Queen Elizabeth (85) and her husband Prince Philip (90) will remain in Britain but will travel as widely as possible throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, the palace said.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit Malaysia, Singapore, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu on behalf of the Queen. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will travel to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea as part of the celebrations.
Host countries are likely to stage a range of events for the visiting royals to mark the Queen's 60-year reign, from official banquets and public celebrations to events that showcase the individual nations.
The shocking omission of Dominica once a favorite of visiting Royals including the Queen herself is already leading to much speculation as to the reasons for the exclusion. So far there has been no word from the Royals as to why the country has been excluded.
